  2. 1 cup chickpeas boiled
  3. 2 medium sized onions chopped finely
  4. 1 tbsp ginger paste
  5. 1/2 tsp garlic paste
  6. 2 tbsp tomato puree
  7. 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  8. 1 tsp chana masala
  9. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  10. 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  11. To taste salt
  12. 1/4 tsp sugar (optional)
  13. 1/4 tsp garam masala
  14. 1 tsp kasoori methi
  15. 1/2 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
  16. 2 tbsp oil
  17. For Aloo Tikki
  18. 2 medium potatoes boiled
  19. 2 green chillies chopped
  20. 1 tbsp chickpea flour
  21. 2 tsp rice flour
  22. 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  23. 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  24. 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
  25. 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  26. To taste salt and sugar
  27. 1 tbsp coriander chopped
  28. 2 tsp oil
  29. Other ingredients:
  30. 4 tbsp curd
  31. 4 tbsp tamarind dates sweet chutney
  32. 4 tbsp green chutney
  33. 1 tbsp roasted cumin powder
  34. 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  35. 4 tbsp sev
  36. 2 tbsp coriander chopped finely
  37. 1 tbsp finely chopped onion

Instructions to make to make Aloo Tikki Chole Chaat

  1. Soak the chickpeas overnight.Pressure cook them with 2 cups water,little salt and 1/4th tsp baking soda.Chole should be soft to touch.Heat oil in a pan and fry chopped onion till golden brown.Transfer it to a grinder and grind it to a paste along with ginger garlic paste and tomato puree.Heat 1 tbsp oil and sprinkle ajwain and hing.When it splutters,add the paste and fry it.Add chole,rest of masalas,kasoori methi,salt, sugar, water and boil.Sprinkle coriander and set aside.
  2. Boil cubed potatoes and mash them.Add ginger paste,chopped green chilli,gramflour,rice flour,red chilli powder,roasted cumin powder,salt and sugar to taste.Fry chopped onion and add mashed potato mix and toss.Add chopped coriander and form into 5-6 tikkis. Drizzle oil in a pan and shallow fry.
  3. To serve,arrange 2 tikkis on a plate.Add about 1/4 th cup hot cooked chickpeas.Top it with curd,coriander and mint chutney and tamarind and date chutney.Sprinkle roasted cumin powder,chaat masala, chopped coriander and 1 tbsp chopped onion.Top it with sev.Serve immediately.
